Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.31 Brings AutoDrive Improvements, Photo Mode Fixes, and More

CD Projekt RED has rolled out Title Update 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077, delivering a mix of quality-of-life tweaks, quest fixes, and platform-specific improvements. While not a massive content update, this patch smooths out some lingering issues across vehicles, visuals, and gameplay systems.

Driving Made Smarter

One of the standout changes comes to AutoDrive. Vehicles now handle navigation through Night City more naturally, overtaking slower cars and ignoring traffic lights when heading to a marked destination. Free Roam AutoDrive has also been reworked, following traffic laws more consistently while still navigating the city fluidly. A couple of vehicle-specific bugs were addressed too, including Johnny Silverhand always spawning in the passenger seat during Delamain rides and a flashy glitch affecting the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru’s wheels.

Photo Mode Updates

Photo Mode also gets a polish pass. Most of the poses introduced in Update 2.3 are now compatible with all character genders, and NPC collision has been disabled, making it easier to pose characters on cars or other objects. A specific bug preventing some of Royce’s poses from working has also been fixed.

Quest and World Adjustments

Several quests received targeted fixes:

  • Freedom: Corrected an inaccurate journal entry when skipping the Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred.”

  • Motorbreath: Multiple issues were resolved, from flipped vehicles blocking progression to follow-up texts not arriving from River. Players can now also unlock the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru through AUTOFIXER, even if they missed earlier quest triggers.

  • Nitro (Youth Energy): A potential crash tied to the Yaiba showroom was fixed, along with a HUD scaling issue in its UI.

Additional Fixes

  • A new option to disable vignette has been added under Graphics → Basic.

  • Localization and lip-sync issues in certain languages were addressed.

  • Several small fixes for text messages and vendors were implemented.

Platform-Specific Changes

  • PC: Fixed NVIDIA Reflex conflicts with DLSS Frame Generation, ensured Path Tracing activates correctly, and corrected Ray-Traced Reflection display issues.

  • Mac: Adjusted graphics preset behavior, fixed HDR and spatial audio toggle issues, resolved a persistent white screen tied to Frame Generation, and improved stability overall.

A Steady Stream of Support

Update 2.31 may not introduce new story content, but it shows CD Projekt RED is still committed to refining Cyberpunk 2077. From smarter driving to more flexible photo tools and technical fixes across PC and Mac, this patch helps streamline the Night City experience.
