MindsEye Update 4 Brings Major PC Improvements and Build.MindsEye Upgrades

Build A Rocket Boy has rolled out Update 4 for MindsEye, with PC players getting the most significant set of changes yet. Alongside general optimizations across all platforms, this patch delivers big improvements to Build.MindsEye, introduces new content hubs for community creations, and tackles lingering performance issues that have plagued the game since launch.

PC Highlights

  • Build.MindsEye Overhaul: A brand-new Player Content tile now showcases every builder’s published work, instantly accessible to browse and play. A separate Curated Content section highlights standout creations chosen by the studio.
  • UGC Moderation Flow: Content moderation has moved from pre-approval to post-approval, allowing community-made content to go live instantly.
  • Logic Node Updates: Timer nodes now support decimal precision up to .000 and can be refreshed infinitely. Custom UI nodes default to active status, improving creation flow.
  • Catalogue & Tools QoL: Search now accounts for tags as well as names, new hotkeys have been added, and players receive warnings when hitting version limits.

Performance & Technical Fixes

  • Nanite Rendering: On PC, compute materials tied to Nanite have been disabled to prevent GPU bottlenecks, particularly improving performance on older Nvidia GPUs.
  • Rasterizer Fix: The Nanite pipeline now correctly splits between hardware and software rasterizers, rather than relying solely on hardware.
  • UI Fixes: Multiple menu and localization issues across languages (French, Korean) have been patched.
  • Character Updates: Red Sand Male 25 has been added as a new character in Build.MindsEye.
  • Stability: Crashes tied to stamp grouping, destructible assets, and camera behavior have been resolved.

General Improvements (Across Platforms)

While PC users see the biggest changes, global updates include:

  • The option to skip cinematics.
  • Aim assist now targets turret enemies first.
  • Optimized shaders, assets, and collisions.
  • Reduced cutscene CPU spikes and improved ambient animations.
  • Numerous mission fixes to prevent soft locks and traversal glitches.

Looking Ahead

The team confirmed that Update 5 will shift focus to major combat and Enemy AI system improvements, alongside further performance optimizations.

With Update 4, PC players not only get a smoother overall experience but also a much richer toolset in Build.MindsEye, giving creators more freedom and visibility than ever.
