The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Window Reportedly Revealed by Insider

The long-awaited The Elder Scrolls 6 may finally have a clearer timeline, at least according to a new leak. A reliable insider claims that Bethesda is targeting a 2026 release window for the next chapter in its legendary RPG series.

It has been over six years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was first teased at E3 2018, leaving fans with little more than speculation and occasional development updates. The new report suggests that the game is progressing steadily, with Bethesda planning for a launch in late 2026, though—as with all ambitious RPGs—delays are always possible.

Bethesda Game Studios has been focused on Starfield since 2018, which explains the long wait for TES6. Now that Starfield has been released and expanded with updates, it seems the team’s attention is shifting back to the world of Tamriel.

Interestingly, the insider also mentioned that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in pre-production or early development stages, meaning the 2026 target might be more optimistic than concrete. That said, this timeline would put the game’s launch roughly 15 years after The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, one of the most successful RPGs of all time.

Fans are hoping to hear more official news from Bethesda in the coming year, possibly during major industry showcases like Summer Game Fest or The Game Awards. For now, all we have is this leak—but it at least gives fans a reason to start marking their calendars.
